The Secret Life of Native Bees

A species of native ground-nesting pollinators, known as the Bindweed Turret Bees, have been busy; come discover what they've been up to. Learn from a citizen scientist who has taken the time to observe their behavior, habitat, and challenges. See these bees in amazing close-up detail in an informative video presentation, then take a guided hike to observe the bees in action.

The 45-minute presentation will be at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center, followed by an optional one-mile hike to see an active nesting colony.

Note these Native Bees are not aggressive, and not known to sting or even bother humans.

Please arrive early to allow time for the .03-mile the walk to the culture center.arking lot off Lynn Road, enter across from Via Goleta, and then walk to the presentation location.
