Note: Paramount Ranch currently has limited access due to construction, so the 36th edition of “Silents Under the Stars” will take place at the nearby King Gillette Ranch. As the ranch encompasses the former home of director Clarence Brown (1890-1987), we will feature two silent films directed by him featuring two of the screens most iconic stars.
The feature film is A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS (1928) starring Greta Garbo, John Gilbert and Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Directed by Clarence Brown with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios. When Diana Merrick (Greta Garbo) is kept from marrying her childhood sweetheart Neville Holderness (John Gilbert), the complications of her scandalous life threaten to keep them apart forever.
All films will feature live musical accompaniment by Michael Mortilla and will be presented in the courtyard outside the visitor center.
Schedule:
Guided walking tours of the grounds will begin at 6:30pm.
The Visitor Center will remain open until 7:30pm.
Showtime is 8:00 PM.

The King Gillette Ranch includes structures designed for razor magnate King C. Gillette in the 1920s by Wallace Neff, architect of California’s Golden Age.

Directions: From the 101 Freeway: Exit Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon. Head south on Las Virgenes Road for 3.0 miles and then left onto Mulholland Highway. Park entrance is 0.1 mile on the right.
