The Secret Life of Native Bees

  • Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center Sycamore Canyon Trailhead Newbury Park, CA 91320 (map)

A species of native ground-nesting pollinators, known as the Bindweed Turret Bees, have been busy; come discover what they've been up to. Learn from a citizen scientist who has taken the time to observe their behavior, habitat, and challenges. See these bees in amazing close-up detail in an informative video presentation, then take a guided hike to observe the bees in action.

The 45-minute presentation will be at the Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center, followed by a one-mile hike to see an active nesting colony. Space is limited, please Reserve a spot.

Note these Native Bees are not aggressive, and not known to sting or even bother humans.
