Kathy Willcuts and Steven Garcia will be performing various Native American dances, including Northern Traditional and shawl dancing. They will discuss certain items that are part of their regalia and give personal insight to their tribal history and connections.
The event and parking are free. The workshop will take place outside of the Native American Indian Culture Center near the Chumash Demonstration Village.
Please wear layers for changing weather conditions and bring a flashlight. We highly recommend bringing camping chairs or blankets for seating. A limited amount of picnic tables and chairs will be available.
Please arrive early as there is a short walk from the main parking lot to the Chumash Demonstration Village.
Directions to Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center
Main Entrance: From the 101 Freeway, exit at Wendy Drive and head south. Turn right on Lynn Road. Turn left on Via Goleta. Continue all the way to a parking lot where the road ends.
Satwiwa Native American Indian Culture Center: Walk 0.3-miles up gravel road from the main entrance parking area to brown wooden building (Culture Center).
