Post Rainstorm Update

Here’s hoping you made it through the heavy rainstorm without too many leaks or water damage. Keep an eye out for any neighbors who may need help in the coming days. Below is the latest update on local roads.

All City streets and canyon roads in Malibu remain open. Drive with caution, watch for street flooding and rocks on PCH and canyons. Come to a complete stop at any malfunctioning traffic signal. Do not approach downed power lines – call 911. 

City Public Works crews continue to monitor the roads and storm drains. Once the rain lightens, crews will begin cleaning, removing debris, and reinstalling any downed signs. 

Monitor weather and emergency information on local news at 99.1 FM KBUU, 1070 AM KNX (during power outages, use battery, solar, hand crank or car radios, which will operate). Monitor weather conditions at https://www.weather.gov/lox.

The @LAPublicHealth has issued a water quality rain advisory for all LA County Beaches at least until 9AM Thurs, Aug 24. Avoid contact with ocean water for 72 hrs after rain due to elevated bacteria levels. All CA State Parks in the area are closed until Tuesday. CA State Parks at Malibu Creek, Leo Carrillo, Sycamore Canyon and Thornhill Broome will be closed through Tues, Aug. 22.
